Job Description
SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Coventry Weekly Salary: £445 to £480 Contract: Temporary to Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm) Are you passionate about supporting the educational journey of young people with special educational needs? Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Coventry. Experience working with young people in education, care, or support settings is desirable. The Role: We are looking for a dedicated full-time Teaching Assistant to support children aged 3–16 with complex needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). Many pupils require additional support during lessons, and some may need assistance with personal care. The school collaborates closely with health professionals, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, language therapists, and educational psychologists to provide a holistic learning experience. Key Responsibilities: Supporting teachers in lesson delivery Providing one-to-one and small group support Monitoring student progress and giving feedback to staff Assisting with personal care when required Requirements: Passion for working with children with SEN Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students Experience working with SEN (desirable) An enhanced DBS on the update service If you have a genuine passion for helping young people with SEN thrive in education, we’d love to hear from you Apply today with your updated CV All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
