About the Job : Alation is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Senior Forward Deployment Engineer - Product Architect to join our dynamic Customer Success team. Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert on the Alation data catalog platform, possessing a deep understanding of its architecture, functionalities, and integration capabilities. - Provide expert-level technical guidance, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for complex client issues related to Alation implementation, configuration, and usage. - Design and deliver customized technical training sessions, workshops, and knowledge transfer programs to empower client teams and maximize their utilization of Alation. - Collaborate closely with internal Engineering, Product Management, and Support teams to effectively communicate client technical challenges, advocate for feature requests, and contribute to product improvements based on real-world client experiences. - Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, best practices, and knowledge base articles to facilitate client self-service and internal knowledge sharing. - Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data management, data governance, cloud technologies, and related industry trends to provide informed recommendations to clients. - Architect and implement complex integrations between Alation and various client data sources, data processing engines, BI tools, and other relevant systems. - Conduct thorough technical assessments of client environments to identify potential risks, optimization opportunities, and areas for improvement in their Alation Account Management : - Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with key client stakeholders, including executive sponsors, technical leaders, and end-users, becoming a trusted advisor and strategic partner. - Develop a deep understanding of each client's unique business objectives, data strategies, organizational structure, and technical landscape to tailor Alation solutions to their specific needs. - Proactively identify and address client needs, challenges, and potential roadblocks, ensuring a smooth and successful customer journey. - Effectively manage client expectations, communicate project timelines and deliverables, and ensure a high level of client satisfaction through consistent and proactive communication. - Drive adoption and utilization of the Alation data catalog platform within client organizations by demonstrating its value, showcasing best practices, and fostering a data-driven culture. - Act as the primary point of escalation for critical technical and operational issues, coordinating internal resources to ensure timely and effective Partnership & Business Growth : - Develop and execute strategic account plans in collaboration with the Account Management team to achieve client success metrics, drive product adoption, and foster long-term partnerships. - Identify and pursue opportunities for upsell and cross-sell within existing client accounts by understanding their evolving needs and demonstrating the value of additional Alation features and services. - Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing teams to share valuable client insights, contribute to case studies and testimonials, and support new business development initiatives. - Serve as an advocate for client needs and feedback within the Alation organization, influencing product roadmap decisions and ensuring client perspectives are considered. - Contribute to the development of best practices, methodologies, and tools for successful Alation deployments and ongoing client engagement. - Participate in industry events, conferences, and webinars to share Alation's value proposition and build relationships within the data management : Technical Expertise : - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. - Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as Solutions Architect, Technical Account Manager, or Forward Deployment Engineer, within the enterprise software industry. - Deep understanding of data management concepts, including data governance, data quality, data lineage, metadata management, and data security. - Strong knowledge of various data technologies and platforms, including databases (SQL, NoSQL), data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery), data lakes (Hadoop, Spark), ETL/ELT tools, and BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI). - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their associated data services. - Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation and data manipulation. - Familiarity with APIs and integration methodologies. - Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective Management & Soft Skills : - Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with technical and business stakeholders at all levels of an organization. - Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. - Customer-centric mindset with a passion for ensuring client success. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. - Strong business acumen and understanding of how technology can drive business value. - Experience with CRM and customer success platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Gainsight) is a Qualifications : - Experience with data catalog software or related data governance tools. - Knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts and their application to data intelligence. - Industry certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer). - Experience working with clients in specific industries (e.g., Finance, Healthcare, Retail).
