Job Description
Job Title : QA Automation ( Playwright ) Location : Chennai Experience : 5-10 Years Responsibilities : - Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test automation frameworks using Playwright from Microsoft. - Write and execute automated test scripts for web applications, ensuring thorough test coverage across various functionalities. - Identify, document, and track software defects using appropriate bug tracking systems. - Collaborate closely with developers and other QA team members throughout the software development lifecycle to understand requirements and provide timely feedback. - Integrate automation test scripts with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to enable automated testing as part of the build and deployment process. - Analyze test results, identify failure trends, and provide detailed reports to stakeholders. - Participate in test planning and strategy discussions, contributing to the overall test automation approach. - Ensure the quality and stability of our web applications through the implementation and execution of effective automated tests. - Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in test automation tools, techniques, and best practices, particularly within the Playwright ecosystem. - Contribute to the improvement of our automation frameworks and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. - Mentor and guide junior automation engineers within the team (if applicable). - Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to automation standards. Technical Skills : - Playwright : Extensive hands-on experience (3 years) in designing, developing, and maintaining test automation frameworks using Playwright. This includes a deep understanding of Playwright locators, selectors, auto-waits, and other key features. - Programming Languages : Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, which are the primary languages used with Playwright. - Automation Framework Design : Proven experience in designing and implementing robust and maintainable test automation frameworks (e.g., Page Object Model, BDD with Cucumber or similar tools). - Testing Principles and Methodologies : Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), and the software development lifecycle. - Web Technologies : Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and how they interact within web applications. - API Testing : Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured, or libraries within Playwright) and the ability to automate API tests. - CI/CD Tools : Experience integrating automation test suites with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar. - Version Control : Proficient in using Git for version control and collaboration. - Test Management Tools : Experience with test management tools like Jira, TestRail, or Zephyr for test case management, execution, and reporting. - Cross-Browser Testing : Experience in configuring and executing tests across multiple browsers using Playwright's : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - 5-10 years of professional experience as a QA Automation Engineer with a strong focus on web application automation. - Proven expertise in building and utilizing Playwright for test automation. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex automation challenges. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and test results. - Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. - A strong commitment to quality and a passion for ensuring the reliability of software applications. Bonus Points : - Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies. - Knowledge of mobile automation frameworks (Appium). - Experience with cloud-based testing platforms (Sauce Labs, BrowserStack). - Familiarity with other automation tools and frameworks (Selenium, Cypress). - Experience working in an Agile development environment. - Contributions to open-source automation projects.
