The primary objective is to meet or exceedFYE enrollment goals established by administration. This position will provide development andimplementation of programs and procedures for marketing, community outreach and student recruitment andstudent advising. The position serves as a primary link between the prospective student and the college in allmatters related to the enrollment process in order to achieve the enrollment goals of the college.The Admissions Representative is responsible for administering the admission policies of the college andcommunicating with prospective students and their influencers. This position informs prospective students,parents, and high school counseling staff of the admission requirements and procedures, and educationalopportunities available at Normandale Community College. The Admissions Representative providespresentations about the college and represents the college at high school visits, educational fairs, college/careerdays/nights. This position is responsible for developing relationships with high school counselors, other civicand community leaders and maintains follow-up contact with prospective students and their parents.This position arranges campus visits, tours, and other outreach events in support of the college enrollment plan.This position will actively advance the college’s strategic goals, including to achieve equity in educational outcomes and to support a culturally responsive and service-oriented culture, through individual and departmental efforts.YOUR QUALIFICATIONSEssential: One year of experience working in admissions, advising, student affairs, high school counseling, or relatedAbility to work effectively with diverse groups of internal and external customersSkill in public relations, such as public speaking, interpersonal communication (verbal and written), and relationships buildingPreferred: Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, communication, social science or another related fieldThree years' experience working as an admissions representative with experience in planning and implementing admissions activities and eventsAbility to demonstrate strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills needed to interact with courtesy, respect, and professionalism with individuals of varying educational levels and diverse backgrounds to create a positive impression and experience working with the Admissions office.Knowledge of student development theoryKnowledge of Admissions CRM Systems used to track and communication with prospective studentsAbility to write and speak in multiple languages such as Spanish, Somali, Hmong, or ArabicWHY NORMANDALENormandale is the largest community college in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, annually serving almost 15,000 students from a diverse set of backgrounds, 42% of whom are students of color and nearly 25% are first-generation.
