TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Columbus, Ohio, 43210 Pay Information $1,913 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night/Day Hours per Shift: 12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) or (07:30 - 19:00) Experience: 2 years of oncology experience preferred License: Valid compact or state license required Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Use of rapid response teams, Feeding tube care and management, Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs, Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips Description: This position is within a Medical Oncology unit with progressive care beds and occasional pediatric patients. The unit has high acuity PCU patients and a small amount of med surg cases. Oncology experience is preferred but not required. There is a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention. Special equipment includes B450 monitors, GE telemetry system, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, Continuous Bladder Irrigation/PCA pumps. The patient diagnoses include solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology. There are no set weekdays or weekends, and the schedule is determined by the facility. A maximum of 7 consecutive days off is allowed. A 14-week contract is required if taking 7 consecutive days off. RNs are required to float within units of the same or lower level of acuity. First week orientation consists of Monday to Friday dayshift. Second week entails 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor.
