Job Description Job Description LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a construction company based in Cranbury, NJ in search of an Accounting Specialist. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and be responsible for managing various accounting tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our financial processes. Job Title: Accounting Specialist Location: Cranbury, NJ Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000 Job Type: Full-time, Onsite Industry: Construction Key Responsibilities: Job Costing: Collaborate with project managers to enter updated estimates for construction phasing. Manage job cost system data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Print and file reports as needed. Accounts Payable: Enter A/P invoices and process payments promptly. Follow up on vendor inquiries and manage the "accounting" email. Print and file invoices, and perform credit card reconciliation. Subcontractor Tracking: Verify subcontractor information and ensure compliance with insurance and waiver of liens. Write requisitions upon receipt of payment from clients and enter invoices. Track and prepare final releases for final payment at project completion. Create and maintain a filing system, enter new vendor information, and create purchase orders for material purchases. Cross Training: Display a "Can Do" attitude and assist with various departmental tasks as needed. Billing: Organize, track, and consolidate backup; track purchase orders, update spreadsheets, create file folders, create online files, print and file documents. Payroll: Assist with the collection of timesheets, verify rates, maintain documentation, process paychecks, print and file documents, and process union payments. Office Administration: Ensure the office is orderly, refill bathroom and kitchen supplies mid-week, answer low volume phone calls, and perform filing tasks. Qualifications: Excellent customer service skills for interfacing with customers and vendors. Strong teamwork skills to work effectively within the accounting department. Proficient in filing and data entry with attention to detail, ability to alphabetize, and ensure accuracy of dates. Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel. Prior experience in a construction firm, AEC industry, or service industry is highly preferred. Experience with Sage 300 CRE is a plus.
