Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Emergency Medicine in Florida

Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician Job Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Duration: Until new hires are found; possibly until summer Shift: - Main ER: 6a-4p; 9a-8p; 11a-11p; 4p-3a; 8p-7a with 2-3 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and 6-8 Emergency Medicine (EM) residents - Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) ER: 6a-6p; 6p-6a Doctor; 10a-10p APP; 2p-12a EM Resident Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum required is completion of Emergency Medicine residency. Board certified or board eligible. License: Licensed MD/DO eligible to practice Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: Candidates must be Emergency Medicine residency trained and either board certified or board eligible. Job Description: - Provide comprehensive emergency medical care in a non-trauma center, which includes a comprehensive stroke and STEMI center. - Collaborate with a fully staffed team of ED nurses, techs, APPs, EM residents, and additional off-service residents. - Fair scheduling includes a mix of days, nights, weekdays, and weekends with no call responsibilities. - Engage in typical emergency medicine procedures. - Support a wide variety of case types and acuity at the main ER; typically low acuity at the FSED. - Participate in a shadow shift to include orientation and EMR training if needed. - The hospital comprises 250 beds with the ER consisting of 43 beds. - Daily patient census is approximately 150 in the main ER and 60 in the FSED, with a 35% admission rate. - No call responsibilities are involved. - Ensure efficient follow-up of cases as applicable.
