Job Description Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. This role is responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and support of desktops, laptops, printers, and related peripherals. The ideal candidate will have strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a customer-first mindset. Key Responsibilities: (Percentages indicate approximate time allocation) 65% – Repair, set up, and deploy desktops, laptops, printers, kiosks, and monitors. 25% – Monitor and manage trouble tickets; troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues. 5% – Provide phone-based technical support. 5% – Perform additional duties as assigned by the Desktop Support Manager. Requirements: Proficient in setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows desktops and notebooks. Ability to install and configure software applications and operating systems. Experience setting up and configuring printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices. Accurately document issue resolutions using a help desk ticketing system. Maintain inventory of hardware, software, and parts. Communicate effectively with end users and collaborate with other IT team members. Work with external vendors as needed. Execute tasks and projects assigned by the Desktop Support Manager. Desired Skills & Qualifications: A Certification preferred. 2 years of experience in setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of desktop and notebook hardware. Strong understanding of Windows OS environments and iOS device support. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (2007 through 2016) and Outlook (2007 through 2016). Basic knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP). Familiarity with Active Directory concepts and user administration. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Self-motivated with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, structured environment.
