️ Head Chef – Oxford Hotel Location: Oxford, UK Pay: £21.88 per hour Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at a prestigious hotel in the heart of Oxford . Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and inspire the kitchen brigade Conduct regular team briefings, training sessions, and performance reviews Ensure high morale and a positive working environment Menu Development Design and update seasonal menus with a focus on quality, sustainability, and profitability Collaborate with suppliers to source the best ingredients Ensure dietary needs and allergens are considered across all offerings Operational Excellence Maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations including service, prep, and mise en place Work closely with front-of-house to ensure seamless service delivery Cost Control & Stock Management Monitor food cost, portion control, and wastage to achieve budget targets Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships Maintain up-to-date records for stock, deliveries, and health & safety compliance Health, Safety & Hygiene Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and kitchen cleanliness standards Maintain accurate documentation (HACCP, temperature checks, cleaning schedules) ✅ What We’re Looking For: Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a quality kitchen Strong leadership and people management skills Creative flair with a deep understanding of modern culinary trends Excellent organisational and time-management abilities Level 3 Food Hygiene certificate Calm under pressure and adaptable to change What We Offer: Opportunity to lead a well-regarded kitchen team in a historic hotel setting Supportive management and a collaborative working culture Training & development opportunities Discounted food and hotel stays
