Training Specialist /Pipefitter

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring a Training Specialist /Pipefitter Position Type: Full time – Contract Location: Goose Creek, SC Duration: 6 Months As a Training Specialist /Pipefitter, you will: The Role Plans, develops, and coordinates in-house product training programs for field support personnel and customers. Obtains information needed to prepare in-house training programs; prepares training materials; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids. Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. May utilize trainers with technical expertise. Continuously revised lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date. Marine Pipefitter New Hire and Advance skills training Selected candidates will be required to complete 2 to 3 months training the trainer assignment on site in Newport News, VA Must Have: Bachelor’s degree or Apprentice School graduate and 3 years related exempt level experience; Or High School and 8 years of related trade experience; Or Master’s Degree and 1 year related exempt experience. Graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School could be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree. Nice to Have: Preferred Qualifications Thorough knowledge of marine pipefitting skills (Cutting/Fitting of pipe, identification of pipe joint types and reading of drawings). Ability to communicate effectively with adult learners and to maintain good relationships with staff and students. Flexibility to work different shifts. Maintain a high level of professionalism. Ability to plan, organize and instruct quality trades training. Note: Employee will be working in a production environment and will need basic orientation, confined space training, fall protection training, and respiratory fit testing/training.
