Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Telemetry experience Job Description: - Work in a telemetry/progressive care cardiac unit. - Deliver patient care for a unit with 29 private rooms. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes RT, CN, throughput manager, case manager, rehab, director/manager, and ancillary staff. - Provide care during day shifts alongside 7 RNs, 1 CN, 2 PCTs, and potentially a sitter if needed. - Maintain patient ratios of either 1:4 or 1:5. - Utilize telemetry monitoring and continuous pulse oximetry. - Operate within an EMR system, specifically Meditech. - Perform typical unit procedures such as blood transfusions, IV starts, midline/central line removals, and manage high fall risk patient populations. - Conduct respiratory and cardiac assessments. - Be a team player, engaged, and a self-motivator. - Flexibility to float in med-surg, telemetry, PCU, and ED Holds areas. - Adhere to navy blue scrub dress code. - Participate in weekend rotations and on-call duties as required. - Exhibit proficiency in preferred skills including NIH Stroke Preparedness, PALS, ICU, Tele, and PCU experience.
