Desktop Support Specialist

Job Description Job Description We are offering an exciting contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Desktop Support Specialist in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will be tasked with managing the IT Helpdesk, resolving network and system issues, and contributing to enterprise projects. This position involves direct interaction with staff and vendors and is critical to maintaining the smooth operation of our IT systems. Responsibilities: • Oversee the IT Helpdesk and ensure the efficient dispatching of tickets to IT staff based on the complexity of the issue • Ensure all support requests receive a resolution and are properly documented • Manage user accounts in a Windows active directory hybrid environment, including the creation of new users with appropriate permissions and removal of users as necessary • Collaborate with user departments to maintain data and file structure within a 365 Sharepoint/OneDrive environment • Liaise with vendors to resolve system and network issues • Install and troubleshoot computer software such as Operating Systems, Office Suite, Citrix, VPN, and Adobe, and perform updates as necessary • Install and troubleshoot computer hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, and related peripherals, both on site and remotely, and ensure hardware readiness for new permanent staff • Work in tandem with IT Head to manage user systems and replace them in accordance with agency standards • Maintain documentation on software and hardware configuration, network configuration, and computer inventory • Keep software solutions and hardware driver updates from vendors up to date • Provide client support for desktop applications • Manage the Door Access Control and Video systems at multiple locations • Handle cell phone and tablet provisioning along with the MDM solution • Optimize copier use throughout the agency by managing the print server.• Possession of a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Desktop Support Specialist role or similar • Proficiency in Android Development • Familiarity with Cisco Technologies • Knowledge of Citrix Technologies • Proficiency in Microsoft products and services • Demonstrated experience with Active Directory • Strong understanding of Computer Hardware • Proven experience in Configuration Management • Solid experience with Deployments
